If you happen to get by the Lafayette Louisiana area, you need to swing by Avery Island and take the Tabasco Plant tour. As soon a you pull up to the plant you can smell the Tabasco in the air. The plant tour is actually pretty cool and they walk you through the entire plant and have a little movie on how the Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce was originally created and how they manufacture it today.
Don't leave though until you go through the Tabasco Store. Believe it or not they sell a jalapeno homemade ice cream there that is awesome. You wouldn't think a jalapeno ice cream would taste good, but it really was great.
