Hey guys,

My wife and I were thinking about going from a 5th wheeler to a Class C but have some concerns about the gas mileage. Though the price of gas has dropped to an all-time low, I really don't see it staying this low for long.

What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting out of your Class C's? And what about when pulling a tow vehicle?

I personally don't own one, although I would love to. But I do have a neighbor that has a gas powered 26' footer and he says he's getting 9 miles a gallon. Hopefully the diesel models get better mileage.

9-12 miles a gallon it depends on the tow vehicle you are pulling.
My brother owned one and I know.
All the best.

I think you should suppose to get 14-16 mpg, see motorhomes are not getting used on daily basis, hence giving less mileage, if you will use regularly, definitely you will get greater performance.

I get 7-8 MPG on the Hwy, 4-5 in city driving. The only way
to increase it was to slow down on the highway. Then I might
get 9-9.5 MPG. But, then all the big trucks would zoom by,
the air from that is a little scary. I did not find it was
worth it to slow down. Unless you take the side roads, which
I have done at times. More to see sometimes that way. And if
I was in a hurry, I would not use the RV. Because I want to
see things along the way.

I have an older Chevy based Class C, w/5.7 L V8 & 3 speed trans.
