Bagri Nuiort Bagri Nuiort stranger Registered: 06/28/09 Posts: 23	I have a 5th wheel that I travel in a few times a month and I was wondering if I should get some solar panels. Does anybody have them and are they worth the money? Thanks for the advice

If you spend 'most' of your time 'off the grid', i.e., boondocking, if you don't have, or like running, a generator, and if you have adequate number of batteries and a good MPPT charge controller, then yeah, they might be worth the money...

Spate Brandy Spate Brandy stranger Registered: 06/26/09 Posts: 24 Loc: Iowa	MPPT = Maxium Power Point Tracking. And no, I don't not currently use solar, but I am considering it for a year from now when I retire for good and start spending a LOT more time on the road!

Burimac Adrian Burimac Adrian stranger Registered: 06/27/09 Posts: 24 Loc: Arkansas	Mainly been looking at 'Shell', etc., but I've sort of discovered that Solar Panels are Solar Panels (at least the good ones of equal wattage). The real difference seems to be in the charge controller... I'll probably get an argument saying that, and I really can't back that statement up, but going by marketing hype the panels themselves look pretty darn close. So, a lifetime warranty on 'power production' would certainly be a plus...
